All with a ceramic coating.
Motorcycle ceramic coating is your answer to easy bike maintenance and some serious gloss.
The biggest hurdle most street bike owners face is getting their motorcycle ready for a ride. That means getting the grime off without a fight.
The main benefit of a ceramic coating is that your motorcycle now has paint so slick nothing wants to stick. Doesn't mean bugs and grime won't hit your bike, but it does mean that when they do they will come off with ease.
With proper maintenance, a garage kept motorcycle and the right process, you can enjoy 4+ years of easy maintenance and a mirror finish paint job after your paint correction and ceramic coating.
Your coating is only as good as the preparation process.
Ceramic coatings lock in whatever sort of finish your paint has. If your paint has scratches and swirls, once a ceramic coating is applied, you will not be able to take those scratches and swirls out unless the ceramic coating is removed.
Swirl marks and light scratches are ugly. You want a mirror finish with the ultimate level of gloss.
This is where paint correction comes in.
With paint correction, comes extensive prep work to get every inch of your motorcycle silky smooth and ensure we are polishing with a clean slate.
If you start with clean work, you will end will end with clean work.

Ceramic coatings are mostly made up of Silicon Dioxide or SIO2 which is the main component in glass. Which is why after a ceramic coating is applied to paint it will give your motorcycle a much more wet look and add depth. Along with the main benefits of a coating like long lasting paint slickness and making cleaning your bike a breeze.
The main reason for having a coating is going to be the self cleaning ability and extreme slickness. Vehicles with a ceramic coating will stay cleaner for longer and clean up much easier due to the non stick ability in ceramic. Debris and grime will come off with ease in the wash process instead of having to scrub or perform a deep clean every single time to get a detailed finish after each wash. This is why we require the vehicles we perform our maintenance detailing services on, to have a coating installed. Without it, you will be fighting an uphill battle each and every wash unless the car is barley used.
If your goal is to keep your motorcycle in great condition, Yes. Constantly having a layer of protection is #1 when it comes to a vehicle in great shape, due to the fact that vehicles without any paint protection will require a deep cleaning during every wash if you want the vehicle fully clean, and vehicles with effective protection like a coating will turn out with a detailed finish after just a simple wash where you aren't fighting with removing baked on grime.
With a ceramic coating you're looking at 3-4 years of protection and extreme slickness, compared to another option like a paint sealant that may last 2-3 months if you're lucky.
Would you rather fight an uphill battle with keeping your motorcycle in a detailed condition by paying for more details and spending longer on washes or would you rather have a ceramic coated motorcycle that deflects dirt, grime, and bug guts with an extremely slick and glossy surface?
Bikes without effective protection, like a ceramic coating, will get dirtier faster and require extra attention after each wash to address the stuck on grime.
Just that one benefit alone is something that will save you time, money and keep your motorcycle in near brand new shape with proper maintenance. So I guess this question depends on how clean you like to keep your bike.
The actual application of ceramic is the easy part. Your coating will only be as good as the prep process. That being said, after the vehicle is prepped, here are the steps:
Using a brand new non soak applicator pad, apply the ceramic serum generously to your pad
Apply in small sections about the size of your gas tank
Wait for ceramic to flash (This will vary for different coatings, temperature and humidity)
Wipe off the majority of the ceramic with a brand new ceramic leveling towel
Flip to new side, or a new towel, and level off the coating focusing on going much past your section to ensure all was wiped off (Ceramic smears in the removal process, and if you miss a spot it's going to be a pain to remove!)
For extra precaution use another new plush towel to go over the section again to ensure everything is removed
When waiting for the coating to cure make sure water doesn't get or dry onto the surface (Cure times can vary)
Most single layer motorcycle ceramic coating installs last about 2 years even for a coating that says it will last 5+ years. Even though the coating still might be on the bike, the effective life of the coating has passed. Which means you are not going to get the best benefits of a ceramic coating like the extreme hydrophobics, and slickness.
Although through our experience with mainstream ceramic coatings we have seen that multi layer ceramic coatings effective life will be significantly extended.
The effective life of the motorcycle ceramic coating we use will last 4+ years with 1 singular layer. As long as maintenance is done properly.
Yes and no. New bike owners are always shocked when we show them that their vehicle is not perfect from the factory. If a new bike has defects, you better bet yours does too. Of course maybe those defects are hardly noticeable, but do you want your detailer to be the type that looks over missed spots because he doesn't think you'll notice them? Just saying, i'm sure that's not all they would be looking over...
But let's say you didn't want to pay for a correction and you're happy with how your paint looks, no it is not a requirement for the paint to be polished. As long as the paint is thoroughly decontaminated properly, it is safe to apply the ceramic coating to your motorcycle. Just know those defects that you're coating over are not able to be taken out anymore unless you remove the ceramic coating.
Absolutely. It is effective at keeping wheels cleaner for a little longer, but it's even more effective in the way that you could get away with using a non acid wheel cleaner and a thorough pressure wash to preform a full wheel cleaning.
The problem with ceramic coating motorcycle wheels is access. If the wheels are on the bike, there is almost no chance we will be able to ceramic coat every inch of the wheel because our hands can only reach so much.
That is why we actually recommend using a ceramic spray sealant for motorcycle wheels instead of a professional grade long lasting ceramic. This will give you near the same cleaning properties, but this product does need to be applied regularly to uphold it's strength. Very easy to apply, spray, rinse, done. This is the product we recommend.
If we are talking about paint coatings, the answer is very carefully. If your ceramic coating job was done professionally, your paint should not have noticeable scratches in it, and it's very easy to scratch your paint while washing it. This is why having or learning from a professional is recommended.
Here are the key steps in washing your ceramic coating safely:
Use brand new or completely clean wash mitts and towels
Start with the wheel cleaning. This will avoid working against yourself and prevent dirt overspray
Use a pre soak foam in your foam cannon to break down dirt and debris so you can have a much more effective rinse
Rinse top to bottom, focusing on pushing the dirt off the top surfaces, down the sides and off the vehicle
Use CarPro reset ceramic soap in a foam cannon to add lubrication
Wash in small sections
Dunk wash mitt in bucket
Grab a new one or scrub out your used one
Repeat until all panels are washed

Yes! After years of applying ceramic coatings, with the right tools we have complete confidence in anyone interested in ceramic coating their own vehicle. However, applying the ceramic coating is the easy part, and your ceramic coating will only be as good as the right preparation process. Taking the time to learn how to decontaminate, use a polisher, figuring out which pads and polishes will work for the job and buying the necessary polishers is the tough part.
